When using VPN Proxy Master, you may notice that Google displays a location that does not exactly match the VPN server you selected. This is a known and common behavior caused by differences in IP geolocation databases.
How Google determines location
Google determines location primarily by checking the IP address you are using and matching it against Google’s own IP geolocation database. This database is maintained independently and may differ from the IP database used by VPN Proxy Master.
Why locations may not match
IP geolocation databases are provided by third-party vendors and are not standardized. As a result:
Different companies map the same IP address to different locations
Database updates occur on different schedules
VPN IP addresses may be reassigned or expanded to new regions
Some databases associate IPs with a provider’s registered location rather than the physical server
Because of this, Google may temporarily label a VPN IP as being in a different city or country than expected.
Is VPN Proxy Master working correctly?
Yes. A mismatch in displayed location does not mean the VPN connection is incorrect. Your traffic is still routed through the VPN server you selected, and your connection remains encrypted and protected.
How to improve location accuracy
If the displayed location is important for your use case, you can try the following:
Refresh the page after connecting to the VPN
Disconnect and reconnect to the same server
Switch to another server in the same country
Allow time for Google’s IP database to update automatically
In many cases, the location label will correct itself over time as databases are refreshed.
Does this affect privacy or security?
No. This is a location display issue only. Your data security, encryption, and privacy protection are not affected.
